HI-Q Environmental Products Company, Inc., Awarded Purchase Order to Deliver a RADNET Monitoring Station to San Diego State University

SAN DIEGO, CA, July 25, 2012 -- HI-Q Environmental Products Company, Inc., has received a purchase order from the San Diego State University (SDSU) Research Foundation to deliver a RADNET radiation monitoring station.

The RADNET monitor will be used to train students in the operation and maintenance of instrumentation for environmental monitoring. The students will be from the health physics, environmental sciences, and homeland security programs at the University. The RADNET monitor will provide measurements of the radiation in the environment and the data will be made available to first responders and other organizations responsible for emergency planning. HI-Q anticipates that this award will lead to other opportunities to cooperate with the SDSU College of Science.

Over 140 RADNET monitors are operating in cities throughout the United States. These monitors communicate with a central computer at the EPA's National Air and Radiation Environmental Laboratory (NAREL) in Montgomery, AL using current data encryption techniques.
