HI-Q Environmental Products Company, Inc., Awarded Contract to Perform ANSI N13.1-1999 Testing and Analysis for the Westinghouse AP1000 Stacks and Ducts

SAN DIEGO, CA, July 26, 2011 -- HI-Q Environmental Products Company, Inc. (HI-Q), has received a contract from General Atomics Electronic Systems, Inc. (GA-ESI) to perform ANSI N13.1-1999 testing and analysis for the design of the plant vent and several ducts in the US Westinghouse AP1000 power plant. Testing will be performed on a scale model of the plant vent, a complex design with multiple duct entry locations. The ANSI N13.1 testing will also be performed on a scale model of the control room ventilation supply duct. Particulate transport efficiency analysis will be performed for the sample transport systems of the plant vent and the control room ventilation supply duct.

HI-Q has established the capability to perform stack sampling location qualification testing as required by ANSI N13.1-1999. This testing provides assurances that the sampling location will provide uniformly mixed, representative samples of the air exhausting through the plant vent. By providing this new testing service to the nuclear industry, HI-Q is complementing its stack sampling system design and manufacturing with sample location qualification testing to offer complete ANSI N13.1-1999 sampling system solutions.
